It's that time of the year again. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and spring break is right around the corner. With spring comes new styles, this spring spice up your closet with some animal print paired with hot pink. Not only do pink and print look great alone, paired together they will make you feel like a true fashonista this spring. If you're not so sure about animal print, start small with pieces like leopard print shoes or a animal print belt. Never be afraid to experiment with mixing animal prints to create a one of a kind look this spring. 

As for pink, the easiest way to incorporate pink into a wardrobe that goes from the office to out on the town is with a pink simple dress. Paired with a black blazer and simple flats at the office, a pink dress looks fun and sophisticated. Take the same dress out on the town by adding some funky heels (animal print,perhaps?) and a long draped necklace.

 One of our favorite trends at Runway is pairing a dress with cowboy boots! Adding cowboy boots to a dress can instantly make it more trendy and casual. It is such a fun and easy look to put together. You can add a crossbody messenger bag with this look as well. This is not only a trend to wear during the Summer. Pairing a cardigan or fitted jacket with this outfit will take this look into Fall! Ashley Olsen and Kate Bosworth are pictured wearing the trend below.

 Feathers have been really hot this Summer! I have seen them everywhere, from earrings and necklaces to headbands and hair extensions! They are a simple and inexpensive way to update your look for Summer. Feathers instantly add a bohemian vibe to any outfit, which is also trendy this season!  Boxy tops are a huge trend for Spring and Summer 2011. Boxy tops are baggy, cropped, and suprisingly easy to wear. They can be worn with a bandeau top, cami, or a tube top underneath. This is one of my favorite trends for the season becuase they can be paired iwth almost anything. They look great with shorts, skirts, or jeans. they are easy to build an outfit around as well as being flattering for many different body types. Boxy tops are incredibly easy to pair with a pair of denim shorts, cute sandals, and a messenger bag for a day look. They are also very hot for a night look as well. At night pair a lace boxy top over a black strapless dress or bandeau top and shorts. This trend is hot right now and I think it will continue to be throughout the Summer.

The Boho Chic trend has been all over the runway for Spring and Summer 2011.This trend incorporates key items from the 1970's and makes them wearable today. The hottest items from the Boho Chic trend are boxy tops, maxi skirts and dresses, feather accessories, peasant dresses, and strappy sandals. Neutral, earthy colors and fringe details are also very bohemian. This trend is effortlessly chic and can be taken from a day to a night look very easily, For a day look, you could pair a boxy top with a pair of shorts and strappy sandals. To change this to a night look, you could wear the same top with a pair of dark wash denim jeans and strappy heels, rather than sandals. The possibilities are endless with this trend and I am sure it will be a popular one for Spring and Summer. Black Friday was anything but black on main street in Cedar Falls! The turnout for the Holiday Hoopla kick-off was amazing! There was an estimated 3000 people that came out to enjoy the live outdoor music and hot chocolate. Waiting for Santa to arrive…it was well worth the wait. To the crowds applause…Santa repelled down the side of the building making his grand entrance and proclaiming that the Holiday Season is officially underway! As he marched down main street led by drums, the crowd of children and audlts followed him. Christmas lights coming on block by block…he finally reached the grand christmas tree that was lit. To top it all off…fireworks! This was truly a night to remember.

It’s time to get that Holiday Spirit going and there’s no better way than to be part of Jingle & Mingle on Main Street! It all happens Thursday, December 3 from 5pm-8pm. This is the perfect time to visit all of the stores on main street and get your shopping started….or finished! Here at Runway we will be serving our traditional beer drinks along with great store specials. So mark your calender…get your friends and family…and be prepared to have fun!

All of Santa’s helpers are busy today wrapping the poles with greenery and lights on main street. If I don’t say so myself, it’s starting to look pretty amazing! When completed, Cedar Falls main street is definitely going to be a destination that you will want to visit during the holiday season!
